We are looking for a Translation Coordinator who will take to heart the coordination of all operational aspects of our day-to-day multilingual projects: copywriting, rewriting, translations, terminology management, etc.
You will act as an interface between clients, external subcontractors and internal staff members. Client satisfaction and continuous quality enhancement are your main concerns. You combine fluency in French, Dutch and English with good organizational skills and the ability to juggle many projects simultaneously.
Primary Responsibilities:
- Translate clients' wishes and needs into clear briefings.
- Schedule and coordinate multilingual projects.
- Process translations with computer-assisted translation software, translation memories and databases.
- Translate urgent and/or small-sized documents in various fields.
- Develop relationships with external audiences (clients, subcontractors).
- Develop knowledge of our main customers' business.
- Assist in client administration duties such as billing.
Skills Required:
- Excellent oral and written communication skills in Dutch, French and English (one of these is your mother tongue).
- Comprehension of one or more other languages.
- Quality-oriented, meticulous, attentive to details.
- Excellent interpersonal skills, ability to work as a team member.
- Excellent knowledge of MS Office applications.
- Experience with the use of Internet and web applications.
- Knowledge of computer-assisted translation software.
- Ability to quickly master new software environments.
- Ability to handle multiple tasks simultaneously, organize and prioritize work under pressure.
- Ability to work within budgets and handle all job-related administrative aspects swiftly and precisely.
Qualifications required:
- General linguistic degree (university level) or Translator's degree. Optionally, equivalent qualifications acquired by experience.
- At least 5 years experience as a translator or a multilingual high-level secretary.
- Basic understanding of the techniques of a professional services/consultancy firm in the communications industry.
